Atlanta, Severance finale, and Bennifer engagement 2.0

04:03 Atlanta, streaming on FX on Hulu, is an extraordinary, self-assured chameleon of a show, and we’re so glad it’s back for its third season.
To have a series like this — funny, dark, absurd, real, always daring and challenging its audience — come back is such a welcome relief. Atlanta has always been so strong, and the way it’s continuing to evolve is characteristically unpredictable but fascinating. Every direction it takes, whether that’s toward more standalone episodes or toward different genres, settings, or intellectual ambitions, still rings true to the Atlanta DNA. There are few shows like this out there right now.
20:47 We’re doing something a little different this week and going deep on one single episode: the perfect Severance season 1 finale, streaming on Apple TV+.
An incredible finale caps off an incredible season of television (which we discussed on a previous episode). We get into the nitty-gritty of this episode, including:
Helly
Irving
Cobel
Mark and wife
(and shout out to MVP Dylan)
40:09 Plus, culture notes about Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez getting engaged (again!).
